Post: Term time only, 32.08 hours per week
Responsible to: Assistant Headteacher (Inclusion)
Purpose: To support teaching staff in the care and welfare of students within the education establishment and assist the teacher in the educational process.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assisting teacher/teachers in delivering the curriculum including help with planning group and individualised work programmes and reviewing work activities. • Assisting the teacher/teachers by joining in with the activities of the students in classes and contributing to assessment and record keeping including Individual Education Plans and Care Plans. • To establish a clear understanding with the teacher of acceptable student behaviour and to deal with unacceptable behaviour as directed by the teacher. • Attending and contributing to regular planned staff meeting and in-service sessions. • In consultation with staff, meeting parents and other agencies to discuss the progress of the particular student. • To establish positive relationships with individual students, including helping to build up self-confidence and self-esteem. • Taking responsibility, in accordance with school policy and city regulations, for students off site. • Taking responsibility for the welfare and hygiene of the students, including assisting in toileting, changing and cleaning, where necessary. • Helping with the supervision and induction of visiting students. • Assisting with the supervision and induction of visiting students. • Assisting the teacher in the emotional care needed for students. • Administering Fist Aid and medication following relevant training. • Performing any other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility of the post.

Scale 4 - £12,483 to £13,913 Post: Term-time only, 32.08 hours per week
Responsible To: The Assistant Headteacher (Data)
Function: To provide cover for classes
Key Role Objectives
• To supervise classes in the absence of their teacher • To instruct students regarding the work left by their subject teacher • To provide students with the necessary resources for their learning • To ensure orderly entry and exit of classrooms • To ensure a calm and purposeful atmosphere for working in the classroom • To manage resources effectively and ensure classrooms are left tidy and ready for the next lesson • To follow school systems and procedures on behaviour management • To liaise with the subject teachers about cover work • Support teachers by contributing to the planning and preparation of resources, including classroom display • To assist students in their learning including the use of IT • Support teachers in the monitoring and assessment of student progress, including the collation of reports • Support teachers in dealing with student behaviour through liaison and feedback • Support teachers in the organisation and management of teaching spaces and their resources • Organisation of resources including ordering, cataloguing and maintenance • To support the learning of students on a one to one basis or in small groups. This excludes work with statement students. • To work with and guide other adults in their learning support activities • To support teachers in identifying and referring students with learning support needs • To support teachers in the planning and preparation of differentiated material • To invigilate public and internal examinations when necessary • To plan and lead out of hours (learning) activities

Responsible to: The Assistant Bursar
Purpose: To assist in the provision of a first class support service to St Luke’s School.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• To provide housekeeping services for the leadership team and School Office as required. • To provide refreshment for those meetings, conferences and INSET • To ensure the cleanliness of the Head teacher’s office, Reception, Waiting Room and Conference Room, including the provision of flowers where appropriate • To provide refreshment to staff at morning break • To liaise with the School Kitchen as required for the provision of sandwiches/buffet lunches at meetings etc • To collect newspapers on a daily basis • To purchase flowers and supplies for refreshments as required
| The postholder will ideally:
• have experience of working in a catering/food services environment • be educated to NVQ Level 2 – GCSE, GNVQ • have good organisational and interpersonal skills • be organised, have a good eye for detail and endeavour to achieve high standards of service • be able to work well under pressure whilst retaining a good sense of humour • have an empathy with the notion of public service and in particular an appreciation of the importance of providing high quality educational services • have high personal standards of conduct and dress, and act as a role model for pupils
Standards will be judged by:
• Personal appearance and time keeping. • The degree of co-operation with work colleagues and customers. • The skill, care and speed with which duties are performed. • The tidiness and appearance of the unit at all times. • Hygiene standards.
